MORE SUSTAINABLE
We recently commissioned a new Demag injection moulding machine. This new machine has a closing force of 100 tonnes. This indicates the force with which the machine presses both mould parts against each other. We deliberately chose the Demag brand because they are market leaders in the field of energy-efficient machines.
Compared to its predecessor, this machine is indeed much more economical: it saves as much as 35%! This Demag injection moulding machine therefore uses only half the energy consumed by an electric kettle (1.2 kW/h compared to 2.4 kW/h)! By 2023, we plan to replace the next machine in the large range with a fully electric machine as well.
This completely fits into our sustainable production line of thinking, through e.g. solar panels, LED lighting, reuse of materials and thus also energy-efficient machines. We try to organise processes in such a way that no unnecessary energy is wasted, that we keep scrap to a minimum and we aim for 100% recycling.
Not only do we have a new machine, a new crane track from Demag has also been installed in our workshop. This crane track covers the entire hall. This allows our toolmakers and technical service to safely work with the heavy moulds and machine parts again. The maximum lifting capacity of the new crane track is 5 tonnes. That will keep us going for a while!
